Baharat

was inspired by the colourful pyramid shaped spices in the markets of Kirkuk, Kurdistan, Iraq. It is a herb container that collects different kinds of crunched spices and piles them in different shapes. As the amount of spices decreases, the lid descends and leaves a variety of suprising prints.

A selection of different kinds of wood was made to complement the specific herbs. For Hozan Zangana it was important to design the outside of the herb container as well as the inside, giving the lid new meaning.
